Tennis is the journey. Enjoyment is the destination. Hello! I'm María. Emma Quiroz, born in Curuzú Cuatiá, Corrientes, Argentina. Since I was very little, tennis has been a part of my life. At 8 years old, on August 1st, I stepped onto a court for the first time: that day began a journey that shaped my story and my heart.
As a child, I began competing in provincial and regional tournaments, where my skill level started to take shape. Later, I entered national tournaments and managed to reach the top spots in the national rankings, which further fueled my love and dedication to tennis. At 15, I decided to move to Buenos Aires to further develop my career. It wasn't easy leaving home so young, but that period instilled in me great discipline, the value of consistent work, and a deep commitment to my growth, always with the goal of finding happiness on the tennis court.
Life led me to compete on the South American ITF and WTA circuits, and in 2005 I had a transformative experience playing tournaments in France, where I discovered that tennis is much more than the ITF, WTA, or ATP circuits: tennis opens unimaginable doors. For ten years, until 2015, I had the honor of being part of the AS Meudon club's first team, competing in the N3 and N4 categories, which allowed me to experience tennis from a different perspective: that of collective commitment, a sense of belonging, and the game as a bridge between cultures.
After retiring from high-level competition, I knew my path remained connected to tennis. I trained as an international tennis coach, a Level 1 umpire (currently pursuing Level 2 in France – JAT), and a trainer, continuously attending and training in courses and workshops such as DAR Coaching, Transcendental Meditation, and The Path to the Sacred, where I work on spiritual discernment as a key tool to support people from their essence. I firmly believe in the importance of helping each person's essence emerge and flourish, so that it is not hidden by life's situations or experiences. I also work with tools such as mindfulness, integrating body, mind, and spirit in the practice of tennis.
In 2018, I founded the Las Palmas Tennis Club in Curuzú Cuatiá, a space with two courts, a hall, and physical activities adapted to tennis, where we promote this sport as a path to well-being and enjoyment for everyone.
Passionate about teaching and sports, I strive to inspire my students and players to reach their full potential. With many years of experience in teaching and sports coaching, I am committed to creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth.
